Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif celebrated Saudi Arabia’s $2 billion investment in Pakistan on Thursday, the day the two nations inked multiple memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and investment relationships.
At a ceremony in Islamabad, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Falih were joined by Prime Minister Shehbaz to witness the exchange of signed copies of the Memorandums of Understanding.
The event occurred the day before a high-level Saudi team, headed by the minister of investments for the country, arrived in Islamabad on a three-day formal visit.
“It’s significant that a Saudi delegation led by a minister of investments is visiting. “The prime minister stated during the MoU that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has a particular interest in the development of Pakistan.”
