The Pac-12 is forming a brand-new band after announcing loudly that it might still be influential in the future and that ten teams’ decision to move on to more favorable circumstances does not mean that the conference is done.
How is the tune sounding to you? Boys, assemble around this table. Bring humiliation upon me, or I will become silent.
Following the realignment that appeared to have left the conference in disarray, ten schools, led by Oregon, made the decision to move.
The Pac-12 made the official announcement about it on Thursday morning.
Commissioner Teresa Gould said, “The Pac-12 Conference has been acknowledged as a premier brand in college athletics for more than a century. “To better serve our member universities and student-athletes, we will keep searching for audacious, cutting-edge chances for development and advancement. My gratitude goes out to our board for organizing the conference’s invitations to Boise State University, Colorado State University, California State University, Fresno, and San Diego State University. Today marks the start of an exciting new era for the Pac-12 Conference.
