KARACHI: Pakistan defeated Japan 2-1 in the quarterfinals on Friday to guarantee a berth in the semi-finals of the 22nd Asian Junior Squash Team Championships 2025.
After defeating Renshi Makino 11-4, 11-6, 7-11, and 11-8 in 53 minutes, Anas Ali Shah handed Pakistan the lead.
After a fierce 57-minute match, Japan’s Shu Takahashi leveled the score by defeating Sakhi Ullah Khan Tareen 11-9, 11-6, 2-11, 7-11, 11-8.
Abdullah Nawaz put on a dominant display in the pivotal match, defeating Shunsaku Kariyazono 11-7, 11-5, 12-10 in just 30 minutes to ensure Pakistan’s triumph.
Tomorrow, Pakistan will now play South Korea in the semifinals.
