The minister encourages investors from around the world to put money into important areas.
As the nation searches for more funding, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb told Reuters on Tuesday that Pakistan has reached an agreement with two Middle Eastern banks for a $1 billion loan at an interest rate of 6% to 7%.
“With two institutions, we have now gone forward in signing up the term sheet—one bilateral and one for trade [finance],” Aurangzeb stated in a statement given on the fringes of the annual gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to Aurangzeb, the loans had a brief duration of up to a year.
From January 20 to 25, the finance minister is in Davos for the WEF Annual Meeting. Key regional and global issues will be discussed by world leaders during the 2025 Annual Meeting.
