Pakistan has responded to a violent attack on its embassy in Frankfurt by Afghan people by formally summoning the German Ambassador to the Foreign Office.
The event happened in the middle of a rally in the German city, where protesters broke into the embassy, threw stones at it, and vandalized the Pakistani flag.
The attack happened on Saturday, and according to accounts, the attackers allegedly tried to set fire to the flag.
Images of the turmoil that are making the rounds on social media show the demonstrators breaking inside the consulate with force, committing acts of damage, and eventually taking down the Pakistani flag.
Eight or ten people are thought to have participated in the assault before escaping the area.
