According to reports, Pakistani forces severely damaged Indian forces while defending the Jassar Bridge close to Narowal. During this conflict, Lieutenant Kaleem Mahmood was killed in action.
Indian engineers were allegedly targeted by Pakistani soldiers in a different operation at a western position in Sona Marg, resulting in significant damage.
The Indian air bases at Pathankot and Jodhpur were allegedly bombed by the Pakistan Air Force. Pakistani authorities claim that their air force engaged in aerial battle with 28 Indian aircraft, destroying two with anti-aircraft guns and eliminating 36 on the ground. At the Kalaikunda air base, an additional fifteen aircraft were apparently destroyed.
