From June 9 to July 6, 2023, the Pakistan Coast Guard carried out massive anti-drug and anti-smuggling operations. Authorities found 2,040 kg of cigarettes, 650 cartons of beer, 5.6 kg of marijuana, 18,914 kg of betel nut, 9,187 packs of gutka, and 42.2 kg of meth ice throughout this time.
A variety of clothing items, used goods, bakery goods, cosmetics, foodstuffs, toiletries, blankets, shoes, and electronic equipment like air conditioners, Wi-Fi routers, and auto components are among the other items that were confiscated.
Significant volumes of fuel that had been smuggled were also discovered by the Coast Guard, including 149,655 liters of diesel and 6,260 liters of gasoline.
The effectiveness of operations in Hub has almost completely eradicated gasoline smuggling in the region. Authorities are still stopping people from utilizing smaller cars to smuggle things.These initiatives show the Coast Guard’s continued dedication to stopping drug trafficking and smuggling along Pakistan’s coastline.
