Respect and gratitude were shown throughout Pakistan as the nation commemorated the 59th anniversary of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti’s martyrdom. Bhatti was awarded the Nishan-e-Haider. Quranic recitations and special prayers were held at mosques across the country to start the day.
Special prayers were arranged by religious scholars in order to elevate the dignity of the martyr. They highlighted the significance of honoring our country’s heroes by saying, “Living nations do not forget the favors of their benefactors.”
Throughout their speeches, the clerics emphasized the importance of the sacrifices made by martyrs. They cautioned that failure to recognize the martyrs would result in shame for the nation and viewed these sacrifices as a debt owed to it. The scholars maintained that martyrs are eternally alive in spirit and that their blood is never wasted.
