ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch denounced India’s illegitimate occupation of the region on Thursday and restated the nation’s position on the Junagadh dispute.
The spokesperson stated that Pakistan’s attitude about Junagadh, a city in Gujarat, India, which was annexed in 1948, “has always been clear” during a weekly news briefing.
“Pakistan annexed Junagadh.” The nation views this issue from a legal and historical standpoint. She emphasized that Junagadh was a part of Pakistan and that India’s illegitimate occupation of it violates both international law and the United Nations Charter.
Mumtaz emphasized that Pakistan “wants a peaceful solution to the Junagadh issue and has always been raising it at political and diplomatic forums.”
