In line with the fortnightly revision, the Pakistani government reduced the price of gasoline by Rs2.07 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs3.4/ltr on Monday. The announcement was made by the finance ministry.
Following the cut, the new rates for gasoline and HSD are Rs247.3 and Rs246.29, respectively.
Light diesel is now priced at Rs140.9 per liter after the government cut the price by Rs1.3. Additionally, the cost of kerosene oil has dropped by Rs3.57 per litre.
It is interesting that on September 15, the administration declared a major drop in fuel prices, despite strict requirements imposed by the International Monetary Fund. Although there has been a recent increase of $2.50 per barrel, the decision was made following a significant decrease in the price of crude oil globally.
