ISLAMABAD: According to The News on Thursday, Pakistan has denied the Afghan government’s request to prolong the stay of Afghan nationals who are unlawfully staying in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Last year, these individuals were given a seven-day window to remain in the twin cities before they were told to depart the country by February 28, 2025.
Security services reportedly hold databases of unauthorized Afghan residents that include details about their whereabouts and dwellings.
Afghan nationals with travel documents are permitted to remain here until March 31 of this year. They will also have to depart Pakistan after this date.
Afghans who possess a valid Pakistani visa for the duration for which it was issued are permitted to remain till that point.
