WELLINGTON: New Zealand put on a strong show on Wednesday at Sky Stadium, winning the final Twenty20 International of the five-match series against Pakistan by a dominating eight wickets.
Thanks to a scorching opening partnership between Tim Seifert and Finn Allen, the home team easily chased down the visitors’ modest score of 128. They achieved the victory with just two wickets and 60 balls remaining.
In his subsequent over, Muqeem got in-form Mark Chapman stumped, creating a stir in New Zealand’s run chase.
Seifert, however, persisted in his assault and led New Zealand to victory with an undefeated 87 off 38 deliveries, which was dotted with ten sixes and six fours.
