Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 485th birth anniversary (Joti Jot) celebrations came to an end at Gurudwara Sri Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur, with the Bhog Akhand Paath.
On the last day, Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Pradhan Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora and Chairman of the Mutukah Waqf Property Board Syed Attaur Rehman presented a statue of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s close associate Bhai Mardana.
Several thousand Sikh pilgrims from India and Pakistan took part in the three-day event.
The statue, which represents the long-standing friendship between Sikhs and Muslims, was placed at “Bhai Ajitaji Bazar” on the Gurudwara grounds.
“By installing the statue of Bhai Mardana, a Muslim companion of Guru Nanak, Pakistan has demonstrated a fine example of interfaith harmony,” stated Dr. Atta-ul-Rehman.
