Effective steps will be taken to break up networks that transport beggars from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, the federal government has promised Saudi authorities.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Interior Minister Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Daoud met Wednesday to discuss breaking up the begging mafias.
The ministers talked about strengthening bilateral relations, sharing interests, and collaborating on security at the meeting. Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, the ambassador of Saudi Arabia, was also present.
The Saudi deputy minister emphasized their strong relationship with Pakistan and said they were willing to expand their cooperation in a number of areas.
Naqvi provided further details on the actions taken against beggars, stating that as part of a zero-tolerance policy, 4,300 people have been added to the Exit Control List (ECL).
