One could argue that the Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940, logically led to the creation of Pakistan in August 1947. This Resolution explicitly called for an independent Muslim homeland in Muslim-majority regions of British India, even though calls for such a state had already been voiced. In its political-historical framework, this historic phenomena can be better understood; it can be viewed from a different angle.
In an article for the British weekly Time and Tide during the independence campaign, Quaid took a different approach to presenting Pakistan’s case; he gave it a touch of civilization. According to him, Muslims and Hindus were two “distinct and separate” civilizations, and as such, two distinct countries.
