As part of a continuous push to stabilize the country’s economy and ensure public welfare, the Pakistani government has stepped its measures to combat smuggling. Law enforcement organizations’ anti-smuggling campaign has recently produced notable outcomes.
Approximately 0.131 million gallons of Iranian oil, 71 metric tons of grain, 293 rolls of fabric, and 1,105 stocks of illegal cigarettes were confiscated by Pakistani authorities between October 20 and October 28.
More than 13,088.75 metric tons of fertilizer, 3,755.69 metric tons of flour, 35,129.1 metric tons of sugar, 4,381,102 cigarette stocks, 155,037 rolls of fabric, and 17.548 million liters of Iranian oil have been seized nationwide as a result of these efforts, which are a part of a larger initiative that started on September 1, 2023.
