ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, Pakistan will play host to the 23rd session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member nations’ Council of the Heads of Government (CHG).
Pakistan holds the rotating chair of the SCO CHG for a year, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the meeting of the SCO CHG, the second highest forum within the SCO, at the Jinnah Convention Center.
At the last conference, which took place in Bishkek on October 26, 2023, Pakistan was elected to serve as the SCO CHG’s rotating chair for the years 2023–2024.
China, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Iran, and India are the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), with sixteen other nations participating as “dialogue partners” or observers.
