One of the best illustrations of what Americans refer to as the “American dream” is Salman Bhojani’s steady ascent.
The first Muslim American and South Asian elected to the Texas House of Representatives is Salman Bhojani. Additionally, he began serving his second consecutive term in January 2025.
The ardent Democrat Bhojani was elected without a challenge in the state elections that took place on November 5, 2024. And in a Republican state at that.
He received 35,166 votes (100%), representing one of the state’s most diverse districts, District 92.
Bhojani emphasized the significance of state and municipal elections during his campaign, and he encouraged many groups, especially American Pakistanis, to use their right to vote to exert influence.
