Millions of users in Pakistan have been unable to use WhatsApp on their cellular networks since 10 Muharram (Ashura). Mobile data customers are the main target of the problem, and subscribers of Jazz, Telenor, Ufone, and Zong have reported most of the incidents.
Numerous users have reported on social media that media files, including videos and photographs, are not loading or processing regularly on WhatsApp, despite text messages and phone conversations operating normally. On the other hand, WiFi users can seamlessly utilize WhatsApp.
Whatsapp is unavailable. The worst of the media loading issues occurred during rush hours after Youm-e-Ashur. The protracted problem has not been explained in a statement released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Major mobile carriers are looking into the situation right now. Before, many users reported frequent crashes on X and LinkedIn, and the problem also affected other Meta apps, such Facebook and Instagram. Now, though, the majority of the disturbance is restricted to mobile network users’ use of WhatsApp services.
Without making an official statement, local authorities imposed Facebook access restrictions earlier this week, which caused issues for customers of several internet service providers (ISPs). At the time, Downdetector revealed that Instagram and WhatsApp were also affected by this restriction.
The government now seems unsure about whether or how to lift the limitation, which was originally scheduled to expire on July 17.
Since the ninth of Muharram, users in Pakistan have been having serious trouble accessing Facebook, which caused a great deal of frustration and conjecture on July 17.
