The federal government lead by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is anticipated to announce a drop in petrol and diesel prices by up to Rs6 per litre for the first half of September 2024, which might be a relief for the people affected by inflation.
This expected reduction comes after a significant decline in the price of crude oil globally, which has fallen by $2 to $2.30 per barrel.
According to insiders in the oil business, the price of gasoline is expected to drop from Rs260.96 to Rs254 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) is expected to drop from Rs266.07 to Rs261 per litre.
It is crucial to remember that neither the federal government nor the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) have formally confirmed the new tariffs.
