LONDON: Raza Nazar, a Karachi native and student at the University of Oxford, became the first Pakistani student to hold the prestigious Trinity College graduate community (MCR) president position.
Raza is a native of Karachi, where he attended United World College (UWC) in Singapore and Karachi Grammar School. His father, Yousuf Nazar, is an economist who frequently appears as an expert on Geo News. After earning his legal degree from the London School of Economics (LSE), he presided over the LSE Law Society.
Raza co-founded the LSE Future of Pakistan conference, an annual event that brings together politicians, professionals, and students, while she was employed at LSE.After being included on Bright Network’s list of the Top 5 Future Lawyers (Ones To Watch), he completed his legal training at Slaughter and May, a magic circle law firm.
Raza pursued the Bachelor of Civil Laws (BCL) at Oxford, which is referred to as “the most highly regarded taught masters-level qualification in the Common Law world” by the University of Oxford. Along with previous president Wasim Sajjad and prime minister Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, he is one of the few Pakistanis to have completed the BCL.
