Since Tuesday night (9th of Muharram), users all around Pakistan have been having serious trouble accessing Facebook, which has caused a lot of angst and conjecture in the online community.
Several Internet service providers (ISPs) in Pakistan are reportedly reporting outages on Facebook and Instagram since Tuesday. As a result, people are venting their frustrations on alternative social networking sites like X, which was once known as Twitter.
Facebook’s parent company Meta and internet monitoring provider NetBlock have not yet acknowledged any problems impacting the platform’s accessibility in Pakistan, despite the increasing volume of complaints. For many people, this lack of confirmation has left them perplexed and in search of solutions.
Given that Facebook has been blocked by the government, some users have wondered if this is the case.
Additionally, Downdetector, a tool for tracking outages by compiling status data from many sources, including users, revealed that just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, users began experiencing issues accessing Facebook and Facebook Messenger. These issues continued throughout Wednesday and were reported even on Thursday.
