The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) consul general in Karachi, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, has outlined the potential obstacles that Pakistani nationals may face in acquiring visas to the Gulf nation.
“Regardless of which social media platform you use either in Pakistan or UAE, whatever you share or like leaves a digital footprint […] whether you share, liked something good or bad [….] these things will lead to your ban [or visa rejection],” the ambassador stated while appearing on Geo News’ program “Geo Pakistan” Monday.
The comments made by the consul general come after his clarification from last week, in which he denied that the UAE had any limits on issuing visas to Pakistanis. This was in response to claims that Sindh residents were having trouble obtaining visas to the country.
