At a World School Summit celebration in Dubai, Sadia Sheikh and Naila Sheikh received awards that mark a significant milestone for women’s football in Pakistan.
The purpose of the event was to honor women’s contributions to football and to commemorate their outstanding accomplishments in the game.
Sadia, the creator of Diya Football Club, was honored with the “Visionary Leader Award” during the event for her unwavering support of women’s football and the creation of grassroots initiatives that have encouraged countless young girls to play sports.
In addition to this achievement, the University of Maryland granted her an honorary PhD in recognition of her research and exceptional contributions to the advancement of women’s sports.
Sadia expressed her appreciation for the event, saying the honors were more than just personal.
