President Donald Trump of the United States (US) expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government on Wednesday for capturing the “top terrorist” responsible for the Kabul airport bombing in 2021.
Trump addressed a joint session of Congress and stated, “Three and a half years ago, [Daesh] terrorists killed 13 American service members and countless others in the Abbey Gate bombing.”
Thirteen US service men and about 170 Afghans who were frantically attempting to flee Kabul following the Taliban takeover were killed in the strike, which tragically brought an end to America’s longest battle in Afghanistan.
