In order to prepare for the launch of Pakistan’s first astronauts to Tiangong, the Chinese Space Station (CSS), the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) and the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) signed a collaboration agreement.
Two Pakistani astronauts will train at the Astronaut Center of China under the historic arrangement, an official statement said Friday.
In order to prepare for specialized research on board the China Space Station (CSS), one astronaut will be chosen and trained as a scientific payload expert.
According to CSS planning, the astronaut selection process is expected to be finished by 2026, with the goal of flying in a future mission.
At CSS, the first national astronaut’s mission will entail performing state-of-the-art scientific research in a number of disciplines.
