RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated on Friday that Pakistan’s interests should always come before the ambitions of any political figure for power.
“We respect all political parties and their leaders. At a media briefing at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, the military spokesperson stated, “No individual, his politics, and his desire for power are above Pakistan.”
When asked about alleged backdoor discussions between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the establishment, the ISPR DG responded. A certain “officer” was reportedly involved in negotiations between the government and the PTI, the reporter added.
He clarified that the Pakistan Army maintains governmental and professional ties with all governments.
