Pakistan’s large-scale manufacturing (LSM) sector showed a considerable improvement in August 2024, with production growing by 4.68% compared to the previous month of July, according to a performance report provided by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The report showcased the expansion of multiple significant sectors, such as clothing, leather goods, and wood items, all of which had a noteworthy surge in production. Moreover, during the month, industries including fertilizers, chemicals, petroleum products, and transportation equipment also saw favorable increase.
In August, production also saw a boost in the food, tobacco, and pharmaceutical industries. Particularly in the tobacco sector, production increased dramatically, rising by 34% between July and August while automobile manufacturing increased by 23%.
