At a ceremony in the Maldives, Pakistani social entrepreneur Zain Ashraf Mughal was presented with the Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA) 2024.
Zain Ashraf has received praise for his efforts to uplift marginalized groups. He was listed in Forbes’ Under 30 list and has previously won the Commonwealth Award.
Over 6,000 kids have been sent to school thanks to his business endeavors, and 3,000 people—including eunuchs and members of minority communities—have received help starting their own businesses.
Global luminaries including former Pakistani President Arif Alvi and former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have received the GIFA Award in the past.
Zain Ashraf made history this year by being the first social entrepreneur from Pakistan to be included on this esteemed list.
