The biggest oil refinery in Pakistan, Parco, will be temporarily closed for forty days beginning on October 10 for planned maintenance. Operations are anticipated to restart on November 18.
A representative for OGRA acknowledged that the closure is a necessary component of routine maintenance work involving the refinery’s mechanical, civil, and other important sectors. The most recent maintenance outage took place in 2020.
Authorities have guaranteed that there won’t be a shortage of petroleum products in the nation despite the closure.
The Ministry of Energy and other pertinent authorities have granted the refinery approval in advance. Additionally, OGRA has attested to the existence of backup plans, which include bringing in more gasoline to suit the nation’s needs. Currently, imports account for 70% of Pakistan’s gasoline consumption.
