After a high-stakes emergency meeting, Parliament Lodges will become a detention facility for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) National Assembly members who have been arrested.
Following several urgent discussions in Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s chamber with important players including PPP leader Syed Naveed Qamar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, the decision was made.
The agreement to use Parliament Lodges for the confinement of PTI members currently in custody marked the conclusion of the meeting, which was intended to address the condition of these members.
After that, Interior Minister Naqvi went to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s chamber to let him know about the choice. In the speaker’s chamber at that time were all of the PTI members who had been arrested.
