ISLAMABAD According to sources who spoke to News on Thursday, a parliamentary committee is anticipated to be established this week to begin official talks between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s return from the D-8 summit in Egypt, a formal declaration is anticipated.
The parliamentary committee would be given the ability to consider important negotiation issues and decide on government-opposition talks, according to sources.
According to the insider, the prime minister’s attendance at the summit caused a delay in the announcement of the committee’s formation, which was originally scheduled for last Friday.
Regarding the negotiations, Senator Irfan Siddiqui hinted that the PTI’s negotiation committee would adhere to its founder Imran Khan’s instructions without question, regardless of how correct the rulings are judged to be.
