A fall occurred during one of Patti Smith’s most recent concerts.
The music icon, who is also mentioned by name in Taylor Swift’s most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, collapsed on stage when she was performing in São Paolo, Brazil, with the band Soundwalk Collective.
Smith has toured with the group in North and South America in addition to working with them on music.
According to reports, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honoree slipped during Wednesday’s performance and struck her head on the stage.
She was removed from the stage in a wheelchair, according to The Mirror, but the singer showed that she is revered for a reason by coming back to perform her 1978 smash song, “Because the Night.”
