ISLAMABAD: Ahsan Bhoon was elected by the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) on Wednesday to serve as the new two-year member of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP).
Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, the chairman of the bar council, presided over a meeting of the council at the Supreme Court, according to a release.
The appointment of a bar council delegate to the Pakistani Judicial Commission was on the agenda.
Four members voted for Tahir Faraz Abbassi and fourteen members voted for Bhoon during the meeting, while one member did not cast a ballot. A show of hands was used to cast the votes.
Bhoon was officially recognized as a JCP member by the chairman and returning officer.
