Sheikh Waqas Akram, the information secretary for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said Monday that the £190 million case against former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi is the “worst example of political victimization” and that the public will not stand for injustice against the imprisoned former premier.
His comments were made just hours after an Islamabad accountability court delayed its decision in the corruption case, which was supposed to be rendered today, until January 6.
The former communications secretary for the ruling party referred to the PTI founder as the nation’s “biggest leader” during a press conference in Peshawar.
“The case based on political retaliation will also elicit a worldwide response,” he cautioned the government.
“Why was the verdict in the £190 case postponed?” the PTI leader questioned.
