As the world’s leaders gathered in Islamabad for the highly anticipated Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan on Wednesday achieved a significant diplomatic coup.
Leaders from ten nations are in attendance at the SCO moot, which is the most high-profile gathering the nation has hosted in years. It is taking place at the Jinnah Convention Centre in the federal capital.
Among the leaders of the SCO member states present at the summit are Li Qiang, the premier of the State Council of China; Mikhail Mishustin, the prime minister of Russia; Kohir Rasulzoda, the prime minister of Tajikistan; Abdulla Aripov, the prime minister of Uzbekistan; Zhaparov Akylbek, the chairman of the ministers’ cabinet of Kyrgyzstan; and Mohammad Reza Aref, the first vice president of Iran.
