Authorities claim that “unknown people” put explosives beneath the pipeline and remotely detonated it, cutting off the gas supply to a large area.
“The miscreants blew up the 12-inch pipeline using an IED,” a policeman called Dawn from Mach.
After confirming the explosion, a representative for the Sui Southern Gas Company stated that gas supply had been cut off to several parts of the province, including Quetta, for a “brief period of time.”
The representative said that the business rapidly restored supply through an 18-inch pipeline to the impacted region.
A significant section of the pipeline was damaged by the violent explosion. The region was staffed with engineers and others in order to rebuild the broken pipes.
