ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, 318 Pakistanis who were stranded in Syria owing to the changing circumstances and eventually made their way to Lebanon arrived in Islamabad aboard a specially chartered aircraft.
Earlier today, the aircraft took off from the airport in Beirut.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, and Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal greeted the returning Pakistanis as they arrived in Pakistan.
Speaking to the travelers at the airport, Ahsan stated that at PM Shehbaz’s request, Lebanon had granted them visas. He expressed gratitude to the prime minister of Lebanon for making it possible for them to return home safely.
The passengers were also told by the planning minister that buses had been organized by the NDMA.
