ISLAMABAD According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the government’s Recharge Pakistan program is attempting to lessen the effects of drought and floods brought on by climate change by implementing ecosystem-based adaptation.
“In the meantime, through our Living Indus initiative, we are implementing 25 priority interventions—from promoting nature-based agriculture and restoring the Indus delta to curbing industrial pollution and investing in green infrastructure,” he wrote in a statement on March 22, World Water Day.
We are reminded of the vital role glaciers play in maintaining our planet’s freshwater supplies and the significant obstacles we face in safeguarding this vital resource as we commemorate World Water Day 2025 today with the theme “Glacier Preservation,” he stated.
