ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, at his Islamabad home.
After a gap developed during the federal elections in February 2024, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the home of a former ally to restore relations.
PM Sharif acknowledged Fazlur Rehman’s religious services and the role he played in defending democracy in Pakistan during the meeting.
PM Shehbaz Sharif suggested the creation of a committee in order to restore relations.
