In the winter, when basic utility use is extremely low due to high per unit costs, Prime Minister Shehbaz Shari has launched a three-month electricity relief program for consumers.
Speaking at an event honoring poet Allama Iqbal on the eve of his birth anniversary, he stated, “The government has decided to provide an electricity relief package on the additional consumption of power for the three months of winter, December, January, and February.”
The premier stated that the plan calls for a “desirable” decrease in the cost of electricity. The “bills from December 2024 to February 2025” would execute the electricity relief package.
Any additional electricity used in the home would be provided at a fixed rate of Rs26.07 per unit.
