Pakistanis living abroad have been commended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a notable rise in remittances, which he claims has greatly benefited the national exchequer.
Speaking at the Overseas Pakistanis Global Foundation’s Convention in Islamabad on Tuesday, the PM claimed that the steadfast dedication of Pakistanis living abroad is the reason why foreign remittances have surged by 30%.
He pointed out that Pakistanis living abroad were receiving recognition for their efforts.
The State Bank of Pakistan reported last month that remittances from Pakistanis living abroad totaled $3.1 billion in December, a 29.3% rise over the same month the previous year.
According to the report, remittances had increased by 5.6% over the previous month in addition to increasing annually.
