ISLAMABAD: The government’s commitment to addressing power-related concerns, such as preventing power theft, cutting line losses, and enhancing the nation’s power distribution companies (Discos), was reaffirmed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday.
The premier, who presided over a meeting to evaluate Power Division issues, gave the Power Minister and Secretary Power Division instructions to work with the provinces to stop energy theft, improve Disco performance, and address other industry issues.
PM Shehbaz recently announced that, in an effort to boost Discos’ performance even further, the government had recently chosen new board chairmen and members in five electricity distribution corporations through an open procedure.
The nation’s premier said, “A whole-of-government approach should be adopted to resist power theft.”
