On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called it intolerable and a red line for his country, and urged the Afghan government once more to take action against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is prohibited from conducting terrorist activities inside Pakistan from across the Afghan border.
“Unfortunately, the TTP is operating from Afghanistan and carrying out terror attacks and killing innocent people inside Pakistan,” the prime minister stated in his opening remarks at the cabinet meeting. This cannot continue. We have communicated to the Afghan government that while we want to maintain positive relations with them, the TTP should not be allowed to continue killing our innocent citizens.
“This line is red. It is unacceptable for the TTP to operate against Pakistan from there,” he continued.
