KARACHI: Today, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast intermittent drizzle in Karachi’s coastal districts, providing much-needed relief for the city’s tired citizens.
Monsoon rains are predicted to arrive in eastern Sindh starting tomorrow tonight, according to the Met Office. This means that there may be rain on July 6 and 7 in Umarkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and Jacobabad.
The Sindh Health Department revealed on Monday that 49 people had died as a result of the recent heat wave in the metropolis, which is set against the backdrop of the weather forecast.
According to the PMD, the city’s weather is projected to stay hot and muggy for the next three days, with the nation’s financial center’s highest temperature predicted to range between 34°C and 36°C.
The city is experiencing a sea breeze with winds of between 12 and 14 km/h, and the lowest temperature in the past 24 hours is 30.5°C.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz stated earlier this week that rain is expected in the metropolitan area after July 8.
The official’s comments coincided with the PMD’s forecast of “vigorous monsoon activity” in the upper and central regions this week due to powerful monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
