KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall for the nation’s financial center starting today, which is good news for those who have been suffering from extreme heat waves in recent days.
Karachiites have been suffering from intense heat for the past few days; earlier this week, the “feels-like” temperature reached over 50°C. The mercury has even reached 42°C.
A greater number of people are suffering from heatstroke as a result of the unfavorable weather, and many of these people have been admitted to different hospitals throughout the city in recent days.
Karachi’s weather is influenced by a number of variables, such as growing urbanization and a lack of green space, both of which have a negative impact on the megalopolis.
