KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) advised sailors and fisherman not to go out to sea till Sunday as a strong depression in the Arabian Sea drew closer to Sindh on Friday.
According to the weather service, the depression may intensify into a cyclonic storm in the next few days, resulting in flash floods in hilly areas and flooding in towns.
Numerous districts around the nation have already been severely damaged by strong winds and heavy rainfall.
In its warning, the PMD stated that due to the possibility of a rough sea, fishermen in Sindh should wait until August 31 and those in Balochistan should wait until September 1.
Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, and other Sindhi areas, according to the department, were anticipated to experience intermittent heavy downpours till August 31.
