KARACHI: On Thursday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned that by October, dengue would have spread to ten major cities in the nation.
The dengue outbreak is predicted to spread to Islamabad, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Larkana, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Multan, according to the Met Office.
According to the PMD, dengue fever can also arise in regions that experience post-monsoon rains. The fever has a very negative impact on people’s health all throughout the nation.
Furthermore, since mid-September, the virus has been spreading. The department also disclosed that, following the monsoon in ten years, there was a rise in dengue virus from September 20 to December 5.
According to the meteorological agency, a temperature between 26°C and 29°C triggers the activation of the vector-borne disease.
