The Duchess of Sussex interrupted Mindy Kaling in her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, after being referred to as “Meghan Markle.” She told her, “You know I’m Sussex now.”
According to royal historian Jennie Bond, Meghan’s public reprimand of Mindy was “a pointed remark.”
She could have simply stopped the recording for a second and corrected her visitor in private, but I felt that was a pretty direct comment to make so publicly to a friend. However, she presents a valid point when she says that some women believe it’s crucial for the family to have a last name, she told Mirror.
