Parents who were promised a “chocolate fantasy like never before” where “dreams become reality” criticized the £35-per-ticket event at Glasgow’s Box Hub.
A “journey filled with wondrous creations and enchanting surprises” was promised by the marketing, but families instead called the experience “absolutely appalling” and a “waste of money” on social media.
Midway through Saturday’s first day, the weekend event had to be canceled, although organizer House of Illuminati has offered full refunds.
According to a representative for Police Scotland, “advice was given” when officers were summoned to the postponed event.
The 29-year-old Stuart Sinclair traveled two hours from Dundee to the event with his four-year-old daughter and two kids.
Hundreds of families had bought tickets, and many of them later asked for a refund. They were among those families.
“All of the promo descriptions sounded fantastic,” Mr. Sinclair said to News. That was not at all the case.”
